dc.description.abstract Polymerase chain reaction is a revolution in the field of molecular biology which has been applied in health care. Though a very sensitive technique, still PCR is considered as inferior to conventional diagnostic methods especially in tuberculosis. Considering its simplicity, sensitivity and rapidity, PCR will sooner be the diagnostic choice. With this idea, we have briefly reviewed the technique and its applications in medicine to give concise yet informative information to the health care professionals. en_US
